Job Summary:

Join our customer's team as an OpenScad Expert and play a pivotal role in crafting advanced parametric CAD models from initial concept through final export. You’ll showcase your professional expertise in OpenSCAD, documenting your full workflow and design rationale while contributing to projects that shape the future of AI-driven design intelligence.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead end-to-end OpenSCAD projects, from requirements gathering to final model export for manufacturing or prototyping purposes.
2. Structure and document OpenSCAD scripts, defining robust parameters and reusable modules for efficient parametric design.
3. Utilize Constructive Solid Geometry (CSG) techniques to build complex 3D models and perform 2D-to-3D extrusions.
4. Iterate rapidly on parametric models, demonstrating logical script-driven decision-making and engineering reasoning throughout the process.
5. Prepare and export files in STL, OFF, or other standard formats, ensuring compatibility with downstream manufacturing workflows.
6. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, providing detailed written and verbal explanations of your design process.
7. Help shape AI learning by transparently revealing the professional thought process, trade-offs, and technical choices made during project execution.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

1. Extensive hands-on experience with OpenSCAD, including completion of full projects from initial concept to final export.
2. Strong knowledge of CAD fundamentals and CSG methodologies.
3. Proficiency in AutoCAD or comparable CAD software tools.
4. Proven ability to create, document, and optimize reusable OpenSCAD modules and parametric scripts.
5. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clarity and detailed technical explanation.
6. Demonstrated capability to work independently in a remote environment while supporting collaborative project goals.
7. Meticulous attention to engineering decisions and the logical progression of design tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience exporting and preparing models specifically for additive manufacturing or rapid prototyping.
2. Background in teaching, mentoring, or contributing to OpenSCAD or CAD user communities.
3. Comfort with documenting workflows for AI or machine learning applications.
