Job Description:
Provides staffing support to nursing administrators, nurse managers, department call personnel, ANM/Charge RN, and nursing staff by updating staffing sheets and computerized staffing programs in a timely manner. Prints and faxes shift staffing sheets to nursing units as assigned. Maintains communication with nursing units regarding changes in census, acuity, and employee availability. Equitably distributes available nursing staff with oversight from the nursing supervisor. Contacts non-working staff and/or agencies for unit/department needs and tracks responses. Answers phones courteously, diplomatically, and sensitively, providing timely support for telephone inquiries as monitored by nursing supervisors. Maintains accurate employee/agency data and scheduling/staffing information in the computerized staffing program. Collects and tracks staffing data as assigned, such as sitter tracking. Participates in agency badge preparation and verifies agency personnel competency worksheets prior to assignment. Completes agency vouchers after receiving completed performance evaluation forms from agency personnel and performs on-shift time and attendance adjustments as needed. Maintains an orderly office area and equipment, files and maintains records of department-specific schedules or agency personnel, and manages office supply inventory as assigned. Contributes to team efforts, supports quality standards and initiatives, and participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities. Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education:
- High School Grad or Equiv [Preferred]
Field of Study:
- in health, business administration, other relevant field OR 5+ total years of healthcare experience in lieu of degree
- in healthcare, business or related field
