POSITION SUMMARY :

The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the Controller especially in following internal controls for all the Statement of Financial Position accounts, and reporting and analyzing the results on a monthly basis and for the overall management of all grants.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Monitor all Statement of Financial Position work for compliance to internal controls
• Close and prepare and analyze timely the Statement of Financial Position
• Manage the restricted or designated funds received and their required financial reporting
• Maintain the capital campaign and pledges accounts
• Direct internal audits to ensure compliance with Internal Controls
• Provide technical support and advice on managerial accounting to assist director in making well-informed business decisions.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Detect errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
• Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting processes and procedures
• Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
• Provide input into department’s goal setting process
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Ensure compliance with GAAP principles

Accounting systems management;

Fund accounting;

Bank and balance sheet reconciliations;

Month-end close;

Financial reporting;

Audit preparation;
