At Oakwood Creative Care's Day Clubs, our mission is to enhance the quality of life and spark joy in older adults living with cognitive and physical challenges through expressive arts, fitness, history, storytelling, music, dance, and wellness-including nursing oversight, personal care assistance, medication support, nutrition counseling, support groups, and education.

Position Summary

The Care Specialist is the glue that holds our Day Club together. The Care Specialist plays a vital role in creating a warm, safe, and engaging environment where members can thrive. You'll be part of a dynamic, creative team dedicated to helping each member experience purpose, connection, and joy through every interaction-whether it's assisting with personal care, sharing lunch, or joining a music or art activity.

Responsibilities Include

ENGAGE

• Greet and assist members and guests with warmth, ensuring each person feels welcomed and valued.
• Build meaningful relationships by connecting with members throughout the day and finding opportunities to spark joy and laughter.
• Support creative and wellness programs such as art, music, movement, and history classes, encouraging members to participate and express themselves.

CARE

• Provide personal care assistance ranging from verbal cueing to physical support-always inspiring independence, dignity, and respect.
• Offer assistance in the restroom when needed, maintaining members' privacy and comfort.
• Monitor and record monthly vitals for each club member, ensuring attention to health and wellness.
• Help prepare and serve lunch and snacks according to planned menus, maintaining proper temperatures and an inviting presentation.
• Support transitions between activities and meals to create a smooth and enjoyable daily rhythm for members.

TEAMWORK

• Collaborate with teammates to ensure the Club runs smoothly and that every member has an exceptional experience.
• Assist with light cleaning and organization to maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
• Step in to provide additional coverage or support during vacations or special events as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Club Director.

• Dependable, flexible, and team-oriented-always ready to help where needed.
• Willingness to assist with personal care needs, including restroom support, with dignity and respect.
• Ability to lift, transfer, or assist members as needed.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must have current DPS Clearance and successfully pass a background Check
