Tax Senior or semi-senior – Community Tax Practice

Bottom Line Strategies and Management is looking for its next tax senior or manager.

We are a thriving community-based tax practice comprised of CPAs and EAs in affluent Westlake Village. Not many, but some of our 2,200 clients earn four figures per year. And, some of the others earn eight figures per year. Most of our clients are pretty sophisticated. All of them are pretty human. Whether they are single individuals, married couples, business owners, LLC members, corporate shareholders or trust administrators, within their realm, they are decision makers - ambitious, bold, determined, confident, capable… scared and flawed. Consequently, we only hire empathetic professionals that can read and relate to another human being. And because there are a lot of dots to connect in our work, some vivid and some obscure, we only hire professionals that have a highly pixelated and imaginative perspective of the evening sky. It’s only after assessing these attributes that we examine a prospective employee’s breathe, experience, education, understanding and ability to appropriately apply the law to the preparation, review, advisory and audit facets of an income tax return, as well as their ability to network and bring in business. (We don’t actually see many audits).

Work is prepared on a paperless platform using Lacerte and Quickbooks. Whereas we occasionally work remotely, we primarily work in the office because we’ve found it’s a better environment in which to mentor and collaborate with staff, as well as cultivate and maintain symbiotic relationships with other professional advisors. Over 40 years in business, we enjoy an excellent reputation among community residents and professionals. We have endeavored to avoid a caste system in the office and regardless of gender, race, religion, age, license, education and experience, treat all staff members with appropriate respect and appreciation for responsibly supporting clients and each other. We work long hours during the eleven weeks of tax season. We rarely work any overtime outside of tax season. Yes, seriously.

In our firm, tax seniors and semi-seniors work directly with clients to prepare individual, partnership, C-corp, S-corp, fiduciary, non-profit and gift tax returns.

This isn’t H&R Block, although it can feel like it at times. And it’s also not EY, BDO or HCVT. It’s an all engrossing somewhere-in-between where you are equivalent to an internist in a GP environment. You are a trusted advisor and friend in an uneasy world.
