Finance Manager

This role will be responsible for reviewing and attaining local and corporate objectives, implementing best practices, securing the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports and projects, and coordinating the local team with the shared services center and our corporate office.

What you will do :

• Manage finance staff at both Southern California News Group and San Diego Union Tribune
• Review monthly financial results for accuracy and integrity; evaluate end of month explanation of variances (Day 7 & Day 10)
• Oversee accuracy of product P&L's and Orb
• Handle monthly and quarterly corporate review questions
• Assess corporate audit questions prior to submission
• Own payroll portion of budget models
• Participate in reviewing all departmental budgets (Revenue & Expense)
• Maintain all payroll related reports
• Calculate monthly / quarterly bonus calculations for advertising VP's, quarterly bonus calculations for Production Managers, and monthly bonus calculations for editorial photo revenue share
• Submit biweekly miscellaneous bonus payroll payments
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers
• Use logic to solve difficult problems and make timely, high-quality decisions under pressure

What you will bring :

Benefits and Compensation : The salary is $118,000 - $122,000.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to geographic location, education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, the Company offers eligible employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, 401k, as well as paid time off and select paid holidays (all benefits are based on eligibility).
