Senior graphic designer [h1.location_city]

The Carolina Hurricanes are hiring a full-time graphic designer to join the creative services and marketing team, to assist in the production of visual elements to enhance the Carolina Hurricanes brand across multiple mediums.

This position will work at Lenovo Center during regular business hours and report to the Art Director. The ideal candidate is highly creative, proactive, organized, and knowledgeable about current design trends, and will contribute meaningfully to the look, feel, and evolution of the Hurricanes brand.

Responsibilities

Design graphic assets for Hurricanes platforms, including but not limited to social and digital content, in-game presentation, venue display, and revenue‑driving materials.

Assist in concept development and deliver creative solutions that meet and elevate the team’s brand standards.

Assist with work such as comping, proofing, revising layouts and preparing files for print.

Attend production and creative brainstorming meetings with the marketing team.

Become fluent in the organization’s project management tool, Lytho, to prioritize projects, communicate with stakeholders, and deliver assets.

Meet with clients from different departments, printers, and vendors.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in graphic design or an equivalent field is preferred.

2+ years of experience working in the marketing / design field (interning, freelancing, part‑time or full‑time design work).

Proficiency in Creative Cloud (concentration in Illustrator, InDesign & Photoshop) & Microsoft Office.

Self‑motivated and have sharp attention to detail.

Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Flexible and creative personality.

Strong understanding of graphics for digital and social media.

Interest in sports design.

Ability to manage multiple projects, multi‑task and meet deadlines.

Strong photo editing skills, including but not limited to color correction, photo retouching & refined photo masking.

Knowledge of preparing files for print.

Knowledge of typographical hierarchy and layout design.

Illustration, motion graphics, and CSS / web development skills are a plus.

Must pass a criminal background check.

Business hours are Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm; however, additional hours will be required as the project workload dictates. This salaried, exempt position will work at Lenovo Center.
