Senior network engineer [h1.location_city]

STAND 8 provides end to end IT solutions to enterprise partners across the United States and with offices in Los Angeles, New York, New Jersey, Atlanta, and more including internationally in Mexico and India.

This is a senior-level Network Security Engineer role responsible for designing, securing, and maintaining complex network infrastructure in a large enterprise environment. The position focuses on network architecture, security hardening, vulnerability mitigation, and lifecycle management while supporting long-term operational stability. This role partners closely with cybersecurity teams and technical stakeholders to ensure secure, resilient, and scalable network solutions. The position is a long-term contract with onsite responsibilities and some remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Create standardized configuration templates for network hardware.
• Establish network firmware standards and manage update schedules.
• Partner with cybersecurity teams to remediate vulnerabilities and meet PCI requirements.
• Design network topologies and maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation.
• Identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and single points of failure.
• Develop and maintain documentation, SOPs, and provide training to staff.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on the implementation of new networking technologies.
• Research industry best practices and manage equipment lifecycle updates.
• Assist with security incident investigations, root cause analysis, and incident reporting.
• Recommend improvements to network infrastructure to support current and future organizational needs.

The base range for this contract position is $73.33 - $83.33 / per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered.
