Job Description:

Geyer Springs is passionate about serving its community and developing discipleship pathways to missional living. The Community Engagement Pastor is the tip of the spear as we reach our community with the gospel. We engage our community with kingdom partnerships with schools, non-profits, church plants, and like-minded agencies. Our large sports ministry engages participants annually and we host community events throughout the year to help foster biblical community, service, and gospel-centered relationships.

We are seeking someone passionate about reaching people with the gospel, engaging the community with a kingdom-minded attitude, and willing to work hard at mobilizing our body towards missional living and gospel engagement. This person should be an extrovert, possess strong communication skills, and has a passion for evangelism.

Objective:

• To lead and oversee the Community Ministries of the Missions Office
• To lead and provide oversight for Geyer Sports Outreach League
• To provide support, care, and accountability for local partnerships
• To identify surrounding local areas of brokenness and engage them with the gospel
• Lead care for benevolence and handyman needs

Essential Responsibilities of the Community Engagement Pastor:

• A commitment to a growing relationship with Jesus through regular spiritual discipline
• Support the mission and vision of Geyer Springs FBC
• Move Geyer Springs FBC forward in mission activity by: connecting church members to partnerships (Partner Link)creating “On Mission” opportunities for individuals, families, and groups
• Developing an evangelistic pathway through Geyer Springs FBC’s discipleship model
• Oversee all community ministry and sports ministry interns and associates

Community Ministry

• Provide leadership in the following areas of community ministry: Planning and execution of community engagement activitiesTo provide support, care, and accountability to Geyer Springs FBC partnershipsOperate as the primary broker between our members and partnershipsIdentifying new partnerships with local ministries and church planters to expand community engagementConnecting the church body with evangelistic opportunities in the community

Geyer Sports

• Serve alongside our Geyer Sports Associate in leading our Geyer Sports leagues. Management, recruiting, and administration of Upward and adult leagues (Soccer in Spring, Flag football / cheer in the Fall)Create a discipleship opportunity to personally invest in Coaches, Referees, VolunteersCoach and referee each season as needed based on recruitingManage all Geyer Sports Outreach volunteers and paid internsTrain coaches to disciple and engage their team missionallyEvaluate Kingdom impact after each season and celebrate with the church
• Manage adult sports opportunities in local leagues

Missions

• Provide oversight over local mission outreach events and local mission partnerships
• Assist Mission Mobilization Pastor in other duties as assigned
