Your New Role...

CNN is on the lookout for a Senior Investigative Producer to lead and create original, visually impactful stories for all of CNN's platforms including digital, streaming, cable, and social. This senior position requires someone with a strong leadership background and a proven ability to produce investigative stories that resonate with viewers. You'll play a key role in shaping editorial direction while upholding the highest standards of journalism and creativity.

Your Role Accountabilities...

Develop, report, write, and produce original investigative stories, prioritizing video and motion graphics for all CNN platforms.

Collaborate effectively with team members, including reporters, correspondents, and producers, to foster a culture of excellence and innovation.

Oversee the entire lifecycle of a visual investigative story, managing everything from concept development to final publication.

Conduct comprehensive OSINT research and verification, utilizing advanced digital forensic tools and methodologies.

Work with animators, editors, and data journalists to visualize compelling narratives.

Manage all facets of story research and newsgathering, collaborating on story direction and focus with unit leaders.

Juggle multiple high-impact investigative projects, balancing long-term work with rapid-turn exclusives.

Identify and analyze emerging trends to shape investigative strategies and reporting opportunities.

Maintain and enhance CNN's journalistic ethics and commitment to impactful storytelling.

Coordinate and supervise production shoots, including video / photojournalists and related logistics.

Research and curate relevant video clips and sound bites from various sources.

Create dynamic graphics and organize logistical elements such as permissions and budgeting.

Independently manage all aspects of story assignments, ensuring alignment with deadlines and leadership.

Produce live segments in various settings, whether in the field, studio, or other locations.

Contribute to written content for CNN's digital platforms as necessary.

Qualifications :

8+ years of production experience in news television or digital video journalism, with a solid background in investigative reporting.

Demonstrated track record of producing impactful video investigations that drive public awareness or change.

Expertise in creating motion graphics and animations, including 3D when necessary.

Strong storytelling, scripting skills, and a deep understanding of visual narrative techniques.

Proficiency in OSINT methods and tools related to video verification, AI detection, and geolocation.

Exceptional news judgment, strong ethics, and keen attention to detail.

Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage complex projects under tight deadlines.

Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities.

Bachelor's degree in journalism, politics, or a related field is preferred.

Willingness to travel as needed for assignments.

The pay range for this role is $77,840.00 - $144,560.00 annually, with additional rewards including bonuses and various benefits.
