Product Manager, Video Devices Software
Motorola Solutions Inc. provides trusted security solutions to the global market. They design, develop, and manufacture video analytics, network video management software and hardware, surveillance cameras, and access control solutions. MSI solutions have been installed at thousands of customer sites, including school campuses, transportation systems, healthcare centers, public venues, critical infrastructure, prisons, factories, casinos, airports, financial institutions, government facilities, and retailers.
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Group Product Manager, you will be responsible for the overall success of one or more assigned areas within the video devices software team. We are the dynamic team behind the essential firmware and software that unleashes the full potential of our video devices! We're responsible for delivering a seamless solution that makes our entire end-to-end product ecosystem shine. Our mission is to relentlessly drive maximum business impact and deliver unparalleled customer value through every line of camera firmware and associated software applications. The successful candidate will take ownership of a segment of the team's portfolio and be a key contributor to strategic initiatives. This position requires extensive collaboration with external customers and partners, as well as a variety of internal stakeholders. These include camera hardware and video management system product managers, engineers, and marketing professionals. The primary focus of these partnerships will be to deliver innovative software-dependent camera solutions and supporting tools that are vital for both retaining and growing revenue of our devices and VMS portfolio.
Responsibilities include:
Market
Being the voice of the market and customer within the organization
Acquire a thorough understanding of the needs of the physical security market by conducting market research supported by on-going collaboration with customers and internal stakeholders for our key verticals and geographic markets
Deeply understanding the competitive environment and our product competitive position
Product Roadmap
Working with the product management team to define a clear product vision for your respective area that ties into the overarching strategy
Defining the who, what, why, where, and when (but not the how) for your assignments and champion that within the organization and ensure all decisions are consistent with that vision
Work with engineering and technology teams to conduct research into new areas and create innovative solutions
Product Life-Cycle
Own and manage elements of the devices portfolio throughout the entire product life cycle
Develop and maintain the business case for each project and/or major feature enhancement including revenue projections and project ROI
Liaise requirements between the extended product management team and respective engineering teams
Continually monitor product performance and take action accordingly
Create presentations for various stakeholders to communicate changes, new releases and product end of life
Validate sales forecast working with Finance, Planning and Analysis
Field Support
Garner technical product knowledge, respond to field inquiries and escalations
Work closely with training teams to develop material and sales tools for internal and partner training courses
Target Base Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000
