PRIMARY PURPOSE: To conduct thorough investigations of claims or losses internationally for a minimum of five (5) national/international accounts with a combined anticipated revenue of at least $500,000, representing insurance or other companies for personal, casualty, or property loss.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage complex claims unassisted up to designated authority; assist with larger losses, including accounting-based claims like business interruption and stock.

Review claim forms and records to assess insurance coverage.

Engage with claimants and witnesses through interviews, calls, or correspondence.

Consult police and hospital records and inspect property damage to determine liability and suitable investigative methods.

Estimate costs for repair, replacement, or compensation.

Prepare comprehensive reports of findings and negotiate settlements.
-
Advise on potential litigation involving the legal department when settlements can’t be reached.

Participate in litigation hearings as required.
-
Adjust case reserves to appropriately cover potential costs.

Generate loss experience reports to help evaluate profitability and calculate future rates.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Carry out other assigned duties.

Contribute to the organization's quality initiatives.

Travel as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Licensing:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred. The candidate must have earned the IIA-AIC designation and be actively pursuing additional professional insurance designations. A relevant state adjuster license is mandatory.
Experience:
A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Skills & Knowledge:

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other PC applications.

Ability to drive for up to 4 hours daily.

Continual use of manual dexterity is required.
Auditory/Visual: Must have adequate hearing, vision, and communication abilities.

As mandated by law, Sedgwick provides a reasonable compensation range for roles that require pay transparency. The starting pay for this position ranges from $130,674 to $182,943 (bonus or commission eligibility may apply). A comprehensive benefits package is available, including medical, dental, vision, 401k and matching, PTO, disability and life insurance, employee assistance programs, flexible spending or health savings accounts, and other optional benefits.
