Innovation Coordinator
The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Orange Coast is to ensure every child has mentors and champions in life.
The Innovation Coordinator serves as an operational partner within the Innovation Department and is responsible for coordinating the systems, resources, technology, documentation, and logistics that enable high-quality innovation initiatives across Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Orange Coast.
Working closely with the Director of Innovation, Club leadership, internal departments, and external partners, this role ensures innovation projects are organized, properly resourced, and consistently implemented. The Innovation Coordinator supports Spark Spaces and other strategic initiatives by maintaining project plans, coordinating technology and equipment, organizing implementation resources, and supporting effective communication and follow-through.
Success is measured not only by the completion of assigned tasks, but by the Coordinator's ability to build reliable systems, protect and optimize organizational investments, anticipate operational needs, and help transform innovative ideas into engaging learning experiences for youth.

Innovation implementation & project coordination involves coordinating innovation initiatives, maintaining implementation plans, timelines, workplans, task lists, and project tracking systems, coordinating meetings, communications, documentation, and follow-up activities, monitoring implementation progress, tracking commitments, and identifying operational support needs.
Operations, resource management & team support includes maintaining and coordinating a centralized management system for innovation technology, equipment, instructional resources, and supplies, coordinating the deployment, availability, inventory tracking, and utilization of innovation resources across Club sites and partner locations, serving as the primary liaison with the organization's technology support provider, coordinating technology support requests, monitoring resource availability and identifying maintenance, replacement, purchasing, and replenishment needs, coordinating purchasing, vendor communication, calendars, meeting logistics, and departmental operational support, preparing innovation spaces, technology, equipment, and materials for trainings, demonstrations, pilots, partner visits, and community engagement events, maintaining organized storage and ensuring innovation resources are secured, accessible, and ready for use.
Documentation & knowledge management involves developing and maintaining implementation guides, templates, toolkits, checklists, and supporting resources, preparing, formatting, organizing, and maintaining training materials and digital learning resources for organizational learning platforms and staff development channels, maintaining project documentation, standard operating procedures, implementation records, and organizational knowledge, organizing digital resources, project files, shared drives, and document version control, supporting the development of presentations, communication materials, training resources, and implementation documentation, ensuring documents and resources are accurate, current, accessible, and aligned with organizational standards, documenting recurring processes to support consistency, continuity, and knowledge transfer.
Pilot support & continuous improvement includes coordinating logistics for pilot implementation and new innovation efforts, collecting, organizing, and summarizing implementation feedback from staff, youth-facing teams, partners, and stakeholders, assisting in documenting lessons learned, outcomes, challenges, and recommendations for continuous improvement, supporting project closeout activities and the transition of successful pilots into broader organizational implementation, identifying opportunities to improve workflows, resource systems, communication practices, and implementation tools, supporting evaluation activities by organizing participation, implementation, and resource utilization information, applying lessons learned to strengthen future projects and support scalable implementation.
Cross-functional & partner support involves providing responsive operational support to Club teams implementing innovation initiatives, building positive working relationships with site leaders, staff, strategic partners, vendors, and technology providers, coordinating partner visits, demonstrations, meetings, and implementation activities, representing the Innovation Department professionally during internal and external interactions, communicating expectations, updates, and resource information clearly and consistently, supporting a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach to implementation challenges.
Required skills & qualifications include relevant education, training, or professional experience in education, nonprofit operations, business, project coordination, technology support, or a related field preferred, minimum of two years of experience supporting projects, programs, operations, or organizational initiatives, experience working in a nonprofit, education, youth development, or community-serving organization preferred, strong organizational, project coordination, and time-management skills, excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail, ability to organize information, maintain accurate records, and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and cloud-based collaboration tools, experience creating professional documents, presentations, implementation guides, or resource materials preferred, comfort learning and utilizing technology systems to support organizational operations, ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, must report suspected child abuse in accordance with California law, must be authorized to work in the United States, CPR and First Aid Certification preferred or facilitated upon hire, valid TB clearance in accordance with organizational requirements.

Physical requirements may include the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 50 pounds. The role may also require transporting, setting up, and organizing technology, equipment, supplies, and instructional materials at Club sites and partner locations.
