Electric Operations Manager

This position is jointly accountable, with other Electric Operations Managers, for providing safe, reliable and cost-effective electric service to customers. This position is primarily responsible for coordinating work performed on the electric system and response to customer outage. This position oversees a highly skilled system operations and troubleshooting personnel at energy management / service centers on a 24 hour, 7-day per week basis. This position also requires frequent off-hour interactions with staff and other stakeholders.

Essential Functions :

• Assists with the establishment of, and monitors, goals, policies, plans, standards, performance objectives and budget for the Electric Service process. Analyzes and recommends resource levels to plan, develop and implement policies and practices. Monitors operating and financial objectives and ensures alignment with organization and corporate goals.
• Develops dispatch / trouble staff. Implements programs to ensure employees possess technical and behavioral skills required to support operating plans. Manages, selects, coaches and develops staff.
• Coordinates the restoration efforts in collaboration with Electric Operations' areas in the Operations Organization.
• Assists in the development and implementation of best practices to achieve efficient and effective transmission and distribution system operations and dispatch. Assists in the planning and implementation of technological enhancements for the Energy Management Centers.
• Monitors system conditions and loading, pool coordination, safety clearance support, event notification and reporting and coordination of activities in support of the Operations and Restoration processes.
• Communicates with customers, communities, executives and other stakeholders in regards to system conditions and restoration efforts.
• Manages the System Emergency Preparedness activities jointly with other Electric Operations managers, including operating, tagging and work practices and standards.
