Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

We are looking for a motivated Team Lead to join our team as part of the WCP Leadership group. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to grow their career and explore future paths in Facilities, Engineering, Supply Chain, Technology, or Division Engineering.

In this role, you will oversee cable operations within the facility and provide leadership for 40-50 hourly associates and 4 operations coordinators. Reporting directly to Operations leadership, the Shift Team Lead plays an important role in supporting production performance, maintaining safety standards, and driving employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Environment

• Promote and maintain a safe working environment for employees and visitors.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with established procedures.
• Proactively identify and report unsafe conditions or behaviors.

Production Management

• Lead production and warehouse activities to meet or exceed goals for output, quality, and cost.
• Set priorities for production schedules based on product timelines, equipment performance, and material availability.
• Adjust staffing across machines and processes to support efficient workflow.
• Maintain strong housekeeping standards and ensure smooth product flow throughout operations.

Employee Development & Engagement

• Train and support employees to take ownership of individual and team performance.
• Create a work environment that encourages accountability, development, and continuous improvement.
• Recognize strong performance and support open communication across teams and departments.

Experiences/Education - Required

• Bachelor’s degree

• 2+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, distribution, or military environment serving in a technical Leadership role

• Demonstrated ability and willingness to work a 12-hour rotational night shift, including flexibility for day, night, and weekend coverage as needed

  This position requires flexibility and will include hours during night, day and weekend shifts.

Desired Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field
• Lean Six Sigma

The range for this position is $80,750.00 - $111,031.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
