Under the supervision of the Director of Health Information Management/Medical Records, the HIM/Medical Records Clerk takes care of release of information, and performs other duties to include chart assembly and analysis, filing, faxing the records to the outpatient providers withing five days of patient discharge, mailing patient belongings.

Licenses or Certifications: None
Total education, vocational training and experience:
- High school graduate with at least one year of Medical Records experience or a degree in Health Information.
Skills and Abilities:
- Must possess knowledge of medical terminology, along with expertise in medical transcription.
- Requires effective communication and interpersonal actions with the ability to follow instructions, yet perform under stress in a productive, independent manner.
- Must have typing skill of at least words per minutes.
