Pulmonary Associates of Richmond (PAR) has been around since 1974. That's 50 years of serving the greater Richmond community. We specialize in pulmonary medicine, sleep disorders and research. Our staff cares about our patients and delivers the utmost excellence in quality care and customer service The Position : PAR is seeking three full-time Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) to support PAR’s Sleep Disorder Clinic at our PAR locations to include West Broad, Boulders and Waterford. These positions report to the supervising physician. Job Responsibilities for Advanced Practice Clinician-Sleep Responsible for providing medical care as delegated by the supervising physician(s) in the fields of Pulmonary and Sleep medicine. This entails the provision of primary care services, including assessing and managing patients in the outpatient setting following established standards and practices. Assesses patient health status including state of wellness and compliance with care plan. Determines and performs and / or prescribes appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Provides acute and chronic patient care including taking histories, completing physical examinations, completing patient assessments and formulation of medical care planning to complete patient care including writing of medication prescriptions as appointed by Virginia law and the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency. Triages patient calls and evaluates patient problems. This includes the administration of medications and injections in compliance with applicable federal and state law as well as clinic guidelines. Responds to emergencies including, but not limited to, the use of CPR and ACLS. Documents patient information and care provided in patient records and maintain department statistics. Uses computer to access / enter needed data. Educate patients and families as appropriate. This includes instructing the patient / family about health and illness prevention. Charged with recommending community resources that may aid in meeting patient / family needs. Responsible for monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits. Maintains and reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information. Posts tests and examination results. Consults with other staff as necessary. This includes collaboration with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients. Orders and interprets spirograms or completes PFTs and O2 saturation testing (6- minute Walk, nocturnal oxygen saturation) and other tests as clinically indicated. Prescribes and evaluates polysomnograms for sleep clinic patients and prescribes appropriate therapeutic equipment. Always maintains patient confidentiality. Qualifications for the Advanced Practice Clinician-Sleep : A minimum of two years’ clinical experience is preferred. Physician Assistant : Must maintain PA licensure. Benefits
