Summary
Job Summary :
The Health & Social Services Director works collaboratively with the community and Medical Director to identify and manage health and medical care programs. This role oversees outreach initiatives to address health disparities affecting Tribal / Native American populations and ensures compliance with tribal, federal, and state regulations. The Director also leads strategic planning, budgeting, staff development, and third-party billing operations, while fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with the Medical Director to plan, organize, supervise, and manage health and medical care services in compliance with tribal, federal, and state regulations.
- Lead and oversee outreach programs and services to address community health needs.
- Manage the Special Diabetes Program for Indians (SDPI).
- Assess proposed and existing services; recommend strategies to optimize resource use and reduce service gaps.
- Design and implement employee development and training programs.
- Oversee business office operations, including third-party billing and revenue cycle management.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with wellness and related community programs.
- Administer and monitor contractual relationships, especially with the Indian Health Service, as authorized.
- Prepare and evaluate agency reports; identify issues using outcome-based metrics.
- Participate as a non-voting member of the Health Advisory Committee Board; support strategic planning and compliance efforts.
- Develop and manage the departmental budget.
- Promote a collaborative and inclusive work culture that encourages team engagement.
- Research and submit proposals for grants and external funding to support health and outreach initiatives.
- Represent the department on boards, commissions, and committees as assigned.
- Encourage active community participation in health and outreach programs.
- Maintain punctual and consistent attendance in accordance with organizational policy.
