To assist in actualizing our mission, we seek a qualified Library Social Work (LSW) Manager. In this role, you will develop, deliver, and manage LSW programs in Louisville. In addition, you will oversee the Library Social Work Fellow Program, which is part of a unique partnership between the College of Social Work at the University of Kentucky and Louisville Metro Free Public Libraries. The position’s job responsibilities are as follows :
Systematic Management of Social Work in Libraries
- Identify, create and sustain liaison relationships with libraries and community referral resources for library patrons.
- Track and monitor trends in needs being presented by patrons to libraries.
- Work with library staff to learn about challenges that need to be addressed, with specific attention to vicarious trauma concerns.
- Examine library systems, policies, and practices for improvements, and collaborate with library staff on specific plans for implementation of improvements.
