Job description

Associate Director Of Paid Social

Directive Consulting is the leading B2B marketing agency for companies that are optimized for metrics that don't move the business. With over a decade of expertise and 420+ B2B brands behind us, we know what real results look like. We operate through three divisions: Performance, Communications, and Commerce, each built to share intelligence and align on revenue. Our methodology, DiscoverabilityOS, aligns brand and demand to guide your ICP to choose you across every decision point. Across Technology, Industrial, and Services verticals, that system spans everything from Paid Media and Content Marketing, to PR and Paid Social, to Marketplace and Lifecycle Marketing. At Directive, we're always looking to connect with talented people who care about work that actually counts. As we grow across all three divisions, we're seeking forward-thinking people who thrive in fast-paced environments, are obsessed with analytics and storytelling, and are ready to make their mark doing B2B marketing that actually means something.

The Associate Director of Paid Social sits on the fast-growing Communications team. Our social media team is on the cutting edge of media marketing for enterprise B2B clients. We're a hub of innovative strategies, helping clients leverage the full power of LinkedIn, Meta, YouTube, Reddit and more to reach, engage, and convert their target audiences. If you're ready to be part of something bold and transformational, this is the role for you!

We have experienced significant growth over the last few years and have stayed true to our culture, the best idea wins. We're future-focused and are looking for the right Associate Director with a growth mindset to join our evolving team!

Overview

Associate Directors are the most important people at Directive. They are directly responsible for strategic excellence in their zone of genius and developing their team of social strategists. As an Associate Director in one of our most creative divisions, you have the opportunity to help shape both our product and culture.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • You'll lead a pod of up to 8 Social Media Strategists. You'll set the tone for excellence across your team and clients.
  • Goal Setting: AsD's are responsible for setting the goals for each client engagement in their pod.
  • Best Practices: AsD's are directly responsible for ensuring that every one of their clients follows best practices and our unique methodology for Social Advertising.
  • Breakdown Barriers: Every great campaign lives or dies at the moment of approval. It's your responsibility to understand these moments and support your strategist in earning a yes.
  • Ensure roadblocks are a part of every 1x1 conversation with Strategists, and that an action plan is established to take down any roadblocks for the success of the strategy.
  • Accountability: We need leaders, not managers. Nobody wants a manager, everyone wants a leader. Build structure, create a cadence, support proactively, and empower your team with clear and concise communication + expectation setting.

What You Offer

  • 4+ years experience working at a performance/digital marketing agency (bonus for B2B)
  • 2+ years people management experience
  • Deep expertise across paid social advertising campaigns, specifically LinkedIn Ads and Meta
  • Understanding of different Ad Units within the LinkedIn and Meta Platforms such as conversation ads, document ads, ctv and more
  • Proficiency in using advertising platforms and tools such as LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Zoominfo, 6Sense, and more
  • Ability to delegate to team members to ensure joint success
  • Ability to de-escalate client fires and more importantly, proactively prevent fires from starting!
  • Strong understanding of Paid principles, including ICP research, ad copywriting, bid management, and campaign optimization
  • Ability to analyze campaign performance data using tools like Google Analytics, GA4, Excel, or other analytics platforms to make data-driven decisions and optimize campaign performance
  • Ability to drive results and measure via OCT
  • Proven and measurable success with mid-market or enterprise accounts
  • Ability to translate and articulate strategy and tell stories with data
  • Equal parts competitive and curious; you're a true problem solver
  • You live on the cutting edge of the industry, always looking for opportunities to grow and share
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • You're quality-obsessed and have not lost your soul for advertising
  • Travel to visit clients approximately once per year, per client or as needed

What Success Looks Like

  • You encompass our core values through every interaction; internally and externally
  • Effectively manage a team of up to 8 Strategists and Senior Strategists
  • Meet and exceed department level KPIs, such as client growth and goal attainment.
  • Build client trust and relationships that create consistent renewals with Senior Stakeholders
  • Surface cross-sell opportunities that align with client goals and objectives
  • Offset client churn through referrals, upsells, and cross-sells
  • Clearly communicate results with client point of contact and executives and internal team members
  • Exceptional decision making, as it relates to strategic direction for accounts and growth and retention of key talent
