Shift (Monday – Friday)

Compensation : $19.55 and up (Based on years of experience)

Responsible for assisting the Social Service team in assessment, intervention development and care planning of the psychosocial, emotional and behavioral needs and well-being of an assigned resident caseload.

The Social Work Assistant collaborates with the assigned Social Worker to meet the residents’ care needs, works to maximize the resident’s independence and enhance the resident’s quality of life to the extent possible.

The Social Work Assistant is also responsible for supporting the Admission Department, as well as the residents and their responsible parties prior to admission and throughout the admission process.

JOB DUTIES :

• Works with the social service team as a resident advocate in relation to residents’ rights, issues, and processing of grievances.
• Conduct tours of facility with residents and or families, groups and any interested prospect, upon request.

Orients new residents to the facilities of Bethany Village and explains how the resident may avail himself / herself of the services in order to facilitate their adjustment.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Minimum Qualifications :    High School diploma or GED.

Associate degree in Social Work, Human Services, Gerontology, Psychology or related field preferred.  Caring and outgoing individual with the ability to multitask.

Minimum Experience : One-year supervised experience interacting with older adults and families.

One-year supervised experience in long-term care, healthcare, social services, admissions, case management or a closely related setting preferred.
