Mission
The Warren Center advocates, serves and empowers the children and families impacted by developmental delays and disabilities.
Summary
The Family Education and Support Specialist supports the mission and objectives of The Warren Center by delivering comprehensive resources and support services to families of children with intellectual and physical disabilities. This role provides family-focused education, facilitates parent groups, and coordinates access to relevant resources in collaboration with clinical staff. The Specialist works collaboratively with center therapists, program leads, program directors, and the Advancement Department to ensure integrated service delivery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this role successfully, the individual should reflect the organization's core values and effectively perform the essential duties of the position. - Facilitate Parent Support groups; reserve rooms; manage enrollment; collect pre and post parent surveys and document parent note in Provider soft or Raintree
- Receive and answer incoming referrals for children and document in the resources spreadsheet within the week of the call
- Partner with clinic programs by educating and providing service coordination to parents as requested
- Support clinical staff by providing information and referrals about community resources
- Assist with coordination and facilitation of family focused events : ECI Graduation, Spring in the Park and Operation Santa
- Manage RSVP lists for ECI Fall and Summer Family Fun Days
- Research, gather and maintain resource spread sheet up to date for clinical staff
- Gather and document program outcome measures
- Engage in professional training as appropriate
- Attend monthly community meetings : Irving CAN, Safe Babies and Garland Area Service Providers (GASP)
