About the Role :

Join BMS Pediatric Therapy Group, P.C. as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant -SLPA and make a meaningful impact on children's communication skills. Collaborate with a passionate team in a supportive environment dedicated to helping young patients thrive. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our early intervention team. The SLPA will provide speech and language services to children with communication delays or disorders, under the supervision of a licensed speech-language pathologist.

Responsibilities :

Assist licensed Speech Language Pathologists in implementing treatment plans for children with speech and language disorders.

Conduct therapy sessions under supervision, focusing on improving communication skills in a fun and engaging manner.

Document patient progress and report findings to the supervising therapist.

Prepare and organize materials for therapy sessions to enhance learning experiences.

Support families by providing resources and strategies to reinforce therapy goals at home.

Participate in team meetings and contribute to collaborative treatment planning.

Maintain a safe and welcoming therapy environment for all patients.

Stay updated on best practices in speech therapy and participate in professional development opportunities.

Requirements :

Associate's degree in Communication Disorders or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Current SLPA license in the state of Illinois.

Experience working with children in a therapeutic or educational setting is a plus.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with children and families.

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Compassionate demeanor and a genuine passion for helping children succeed.

Basic knowledge of speech and language development and disorders.

Willingness to learn and adapt to new therapeutic techniques and approaches.
