Commodity Buyer or Planner / Scheduler

Privately held manufacturer of engineered to order capital equipment has an immediate need for a Commodity Buyer OR a Planner / Scheduler. (One Hire will be made)

For Commodity Buyer Role: (On Site)

1. Negotiation of all terms & conditions for major commodities (Metals - Plate, Tube, Bar and key components, etc)

2. Understanding of make-buy analysis ROI and ability to create a business case

3. Indirect consumable understanding and management

4. Ability to work with Engineering, Operations and Sales.

• Prefer a BS degree and prior experience as a Buyer in a manufacturing environment.

• Prefer prior metals knowledge.

• Prior Leadership in supply chain is preferred. (this role has no direct reports but is responsible for a very high amount of $$ spend and must work across all business functions.)

For Planner / Scheduler Role: (On Site)

1. Develop, maintain and update project schedules for fabrication, machining, assembly and testing.
2. Coordinate with Engineering / Project Management to understand overall scope.
3. Work with procurement team to confirm material availability, lead times, etc.
4. Work with Production Team to confirm progress.
5. Maintain data in ERP (Made To Manage) - including Work Orders, Routings and Production Statuses.
6. Lead Daily / Weekly Production meetings to align team on priorities / updates.

• Must have prior experience in Planning in a manufacturing environment. (heavy fabrication, ETO capital equipment, etc)
• Prefer BS degree
