Supply Technician
You will serve as a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN in the Nuclear Material Industrial Section (Code 2305.22) for the Nuclear Material Manager (Code 2305) in the Nuclear Engineering and Planning Department (Code 2300) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
This job is open to Career transition (CTAP, ICTAP, RPL), Land and base management, Veterans, Military spouses, Individuals with disabilities, Special authorities.
Duties
You will be responsible for receiving and processing excess material turned in by work packaging and control or other shops and codes.
You will prepare monthly reports to determine if stored material is in an excess category.
You will perform database transactions to move material into appropriate excess category, updating job order information, location, and final disposition.
You will be responsible for proper demilitarization and disposal of excess nuclear propulsion plant components, parts, material, and equipment to prevent unauthorized use.
You will serve as the Environmental Coordinator for the Nuclear Support Branch and the primary point of contact for matters concerning recovery material for the branch.
You will keep material databases updated and accurate for excess and reserve material inventory.
Requirements
Must be a US Citizen.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

This is a bargaining unit position.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience applying security regulations relating to the safeguarding and handling of classified information and material.
Experience communing both written and oral to convey direction or work, material status' to customers, and ability to notify supervision of issues.
Experience applying ADP techniques and capabilities to the Nuclear Material Support program.
Experience interpreting nuclear material control regulations.
Experience applying policies and procedures related to inventory management and other phases of material support, specifically support activity interfaces.
Experience applying shipyard organizational procedures, particularly those related to engineering, inspection, expediting, production, and shipping.
