General Production Worker
Pay: $23/hour
Location: Kent, WA
Shifts Available: Swing & Night
Work Environment Details
The facility is a large industrial wire‑processing plant with areas of intense heat near molten zinc kettles and exposure to noise, fumes, moving equipment, and heavy materials. Temperature varies seasonally—hot in summer, cold in winter. Safety is essential due to chemical usage and the nature of the equipment.
Schedule:

Swing: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Night: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Day: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Work cycle: 12 days on, followed by 2 days off
Position Summary
A long‑established wire manufacturing company—one of the largest on the West Coast—is looking to add Production Workers to support its galvanizing operations. This role is hands‑on and fast‑paced, working in a heavy‑industrial environment where wire products are coated and processed for use in construction, agriculture, transportation, telecommunications, and multiple industrial applications. The galvanizing line is a loud, high‑heat workspace that requires strict attention to safety and comfort working at elevated heights.
Primary Responsibilities

Operate and oversee multiple stages of the galvanizing line, including payoff systems, cleaning sections, zinc baths, cooling units, and wire‑winding equipment

Load raw wire into the line and maintain consistent flow throughout the process

Examine wire for correct coating thickness, surface quality, zinc adhesion, and overall diameter accuracy

Make machine adjustments such as regulating temperature, line speed, tension, and coating parameters to stay within spec

Safely handle materials such as zinc ingots, flux, and production additives

Perform basic mechanical tasks: clearing blockages, cleaning equipment, swapping out worn parts, and escalating mechanical concerns

Follow all required safety practices, including PPE usage, lockout/tagout, and hot‑metal procedures
Required Skills & Experience

Prior production, labor, or warehouse experience

Mechanical aptitude and comfort operating industrial machinery

Strong safety awareness and ability to follow procedures closely

Dependable attendance and ability to work well with others

Comfortable working around heat sources and at elevated heights
Preferred Qualifications

Stable work history with at least 2–3 years at previous employer

Experience working in high‑heat industrial environments

Willingness to train on night shifts

Positive, team‑focused attitude
