Description
Our Surgical Technology program is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Lab Assistant to support the educational environment for aspiring surgical technologists. This role plays a vital part in ensuring a clean, organized, and well-stocked lab, allowing students to focus on their studies and develop essential skills.
Responsibilities
Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate inventory levels of surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment.
Replenish stock as needed, ensuring all necessary items are readily available for lab activities.
Develop and implement efficient inventory tracking systems.
Organize and label supplies for easy identification and retrieval.
Reprocessing and Repackaging
Clean, disinfect, and repackage reusable surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
Ensure proper sterilization techniques are followed to maintain a sterile environment.
Inspect instruments for damage and report any issues to the lab instructor.
Lab Maintenance
Maintain a clean and sanitary lab environment through regular sweeping, dusting, and mopping.
Dispose of biohazardous waste according to safety regulations.
Assist with setting up and preparing the lab for classes and demonstrations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience working in a medical or laboratory setting preferred.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols.
Basic understanding of sterile techniques and infection control procedures.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good physical stamina and ability to lift and carry moderate weights.

$15.00 Hourly
