Job Summary:

We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Activity Assistant to join our team at Gateway Post-Acute and Rehab in Pinellas Park, FL. As an Activity Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents by creating engaging and meaningful experiences. This is a full-time position that offers a rewarding and dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and implement activities that cater to the interests and abilities of our residents, promoting socialization, physical and mental well-being, and overall enjoyment

  • Collaborate with the Activities Director to develop and implement activity programs, including events, outings, and recreational activities

  • Recruit and supervise volunteers, interns, and students to assist with activities and events

  • Maintain accurate records of activities, resident participation, and supplies

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and staff to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction

  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and in-service education to stay current with best practices and industry developments

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Recreation Therapy, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred

  • at least 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting, with an eagerness to learn and grow in the role

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances

  • Compassion, empathy, and a passion for providing exceptional care to individuals with complex needs
