Shift: 36 hours per week, nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Three 12-hour shifts per week, rotating every other weekend and observed holiday
GENERAL SUMMARY
Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: BSN preferred. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans. Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing. BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted

Meet the Unit Nurse Manager!
Henry Ford St John Hospital’s 6 West Medical Surgical unit is a 23-bed unit. We specialize in the treatment of various medical and surgical diagnoses including sepsis, kidney stones and gallstones, GI bleeds, home falls, etc. Our current nurse to patient ratio is approximately 5:1, and have the support of Patient Care Technicians. We are a team-oriented group of professionals and encourage voluntary participation in committees including the Tulip Council, Fall Champion Group, and Shared Governance.
