About the Role
Reporting to the Director, Sustainability Management, the Senior Analyst, Sustainability will support Brookfield Renewables portfolio of companies on initiatives related to ESG reporting, sustainability performance, emissions management, climate change, biodiversity, and circularity management. This position will be responsible for analyzing various sustainability metrics and will assist in identifying areas of improvement in portfolio company sustainability programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish approaches, templates, and processes to support the achievement of Brookfield Renewables ESG targets and transition fund impact targets, and ensure alignment with Brookfield Renewables Sustainability policies. This will require addressing a broad range of ESG topics including GHG emissions, biodiversity, water consumption, circularity, etc.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to guide implementation of ESG data collection and reporting systems, with the goal of ensuring an audit ready dataset for required annual and quarterly reporting.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of ESG data submitted by portfolio companies.
- Assess the sustainability performance of portfolio companies, through data collection and periodic company engagements, to identify areas of improvement.
- Develop and implement dashboard capabilities in conjunction with internal stakeholders to track ESG metrics and progress against established targets.
- Provide advisory on standards and regulations relevant to Brookfield Renewables portfolio companies, such as TCFD, SBTi, GRI, GHG Protocol.
- Support the ESG due diligence processes for investments in North America in line with internal requirements.
- Maintain an understanding of current and emerging best practices, technology, policy, and regulatory aspects of sustainability topics, and develop summaries and reports on key sustainability issues and topics.
