As a Database Administrator, you will develop and support our Veterans United Home Loans database environment, as well as support the implementation of new technologies with respect to database requirements.
Here’s a snapshot of what you’d be doing :
Identify database performance concerns and resolve by leveraging, logging, and monitoring tools.
Address support tickets regarding database environments.
Collaborate with different units within Technology to help achieve an environment that meets current and future business objectives.
Work with Technology to ensure the highest reliability and performance possible in the database environment.
Create and maintain detailed database systems documentation.
Provide and design tools to assist with the management of the database environment.
Actively contribute to making the team and culture stronger by assisting with other duties as needed, excluding licensed activity.

3+ years of experience developing complex SQL queries, scripts, and stored procedures
Strong knowledge of data architecture for designing schemas for OLAP and Transactional databases
Experience in administering and supporting business critical relational databases on MS SQL or MySQL
Proficiency with database performance strategies as well as tuning queries and processes
Familiarity with server administration concepts in a Microsoft Windows server environment
Strong knowledge of data warehousing and reporting architectures
Some development experience with, or exposure to, application development in .NET
3+ years of experience using Microsoft SQL Server DBMS, with large, complex corporate databases
Proficient in basic computer technologies, appropriate for an internet-based company
Regular and predictable attendance
