Why Stifel

Stifel strives for a culture that puts its clients and associates first: a culture where everyone belongs, everyone is welcome, and everyone contributes to the success of our clients, their careers, and the firm as a whole.

Let's talk about how you can find your place here at Stifel, where success meets success.

What You'll Be Doing

The Deposit Operations Business Systems Analyst is responsible for administering and supporting core banking and ancillary systems while serving as a key resource for operational reporting, user access management, system configuration, and process improvement initiatives. This role independently analyzes operational data, supports audit and compliance requirements, troubleshoots system-related issues, and partners with business units to improve efficiency, accuracy, and control practices across Deposit Operations and related departments.

What We're Looking For

  • Administer and maintain core banking and operational systems, including product setup, configuration updates, user administration, and system maintenance activities.
  • Independently manage user access controls across multiple banking applications, including onboarding, modifications, terminations, and periodic access reviews.
  • Generate, validate, analyze, and distribute operational and Business Analytics reports to support business and regulatory requirements.
  • Research, troubleshoot, and resolve moderate-complexity system, reporting, and operational issues while coordinating with internal partners and vendors as needed.
  • Monitor system updates, release communications, and vendor notices, assessing operational impacts and assisting with implementation activities.
  • Support internal and external audits by gathering documentation, validating controls, responding to inquiries, and assisting with remediation efforts.
  • Perform data analysis, reconciliations, and exception monitoring to identify trends, risks, inaccuracies, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain operational procedures, process documentation, system specifications, and user administration standards.
  • Participate in testing activities for system upgrades, product implementations, workflow enhancements, and operational changes.
  • Collaborate with business partners to evaluate operational needs and recommend solutions that improve efficiency, controls, and customer service.
  • Provide guidance and knowledge sharing to less experienced team members and serve as a resource within the department.

What You'll Bring

  • Working knowledge of banking operations, deposit operations processes, and financial services environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and recommend solutions.
  • Knowledge of user access administration, system controls, and operational risk management principles.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, completeness, and data integrity.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across departments and functional areas.
  • Understanding of audit, compliance, and regulatory requirements affecting banking operations.
  • Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and escalating issues when appropriate.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum Required: 3+ years of experience in banking operations, systems administration, business systems support, deposit operations, or a related area.

Licenses & Credentials

  • Minimum Required: None.

Systems & Technology

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with core banking platforms and ancillary banking systems.
  • Experience utilizing reporting, analytics, or business intelligence tools.
  • Ability to analyze and manipulate data using advanced Excel functions.
