The Labor and Delivery unit sits within a dynamic Women's Services platform that includes Maternity, Obstetrics, and broader Perinatal Services. As an Assistant Manager within this Birthing Center environment, you will help oversee daily clinical operations in a high-volume setting that manages complex maternal-fetal cases alongside routine deliveries. Advanced maternal care capabilities allow the team to safely support higher-acuity patients while maintaining patient-centered workflows. You will partner closely with obstetricians, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, anesthesiology, neonatology, and nursing teams to optimize throughput, safety, and patient experience. This is a leadership seat with operational ownershipstaff engagement, quality metrics, clinical practice standards, and workflow redesign all sit within your sphere of influence.
Reporting directly to senior nursing leadership, the Assistant Nurse Manager Labor and Delivery plays a pivotal role in supervising frontline teams, coordinating with physician leadership, and aligning unit-based initiatives with system priorities. You will drive performance improvement, support shared governance, mentor charge nurses, and collaborate with ancillary departments to ensure seamless care delivery. Visibility at the executive level ensures your voice shapes staffing strategy, quality initiatives, and long-term service line planning.
