POSITION :
Lead Teachers support the General Manager and Department of Education by providing programming expertise, onboarding help, and continued coaching for the teaching roster of YogaSix Santa Rosa. YogaSix Lead Teachers are experienced, passionate and dedicated professionals who are looking for a way to get more involved, beyond teacher classes, privates, and workshops. This part time position includes a flexible, rolling schedule as you are tasked with taking classes and offering feedback (using YogaSix’s empowering, student-focused approach) to other teachers on the team.
Average estimated time commitment of approximately 5-15 hours per week, plus time teaching, depending on the needs and stage of the studio.
DUTIES
Delivering Exceptional Classes
- Have a consistent presence teaching and practicing at YogaSix.
- Signed off on all 6 core class types.
- Teach a minimum of 5 yoga classes (minimum of 3 different formats) in studio per week. Create a class experience that shows your personality and skills while adhering to the Yoga Six standards and guidelines for each of the YogaSix core class types.
- Set up and manage the practice room appropriately : Props, Mat Spacing, Music, Lighting.
- Provide top notch class instruction.
- Demonstrate the ability to teach a safe, fun, and creative class with a genuine interest in student success, whether novice or seasoned practitioner.
- Clean practice room space and prop room after each class, leaving the room as neat as you found it.
- Responsible for recruiting, onboarding, coaching and developing teachers.
- Have strong understanding of Yoga Six core formats, as well as distinguishing features between formats and provide feedback to teacher, General Manager and Department of Education (if requested).
- Coach teachers in a supportive, empowering way by illuminating areas of growth and acknowledging areas of skill.
- Submit audition evaluation form for each teacher to General Manager.
- Lead in-house format trainings (which include a full class experience) for training purposes.
- Arrive to studio prepared to connect with students a minimum of 15 minutes prior to class start time.
- Create a personal connection with each student.
- Follow up with students after class- 15 minutes.
- RYT 500 or ERYT 500 Preferred
- Current CPR Certification

- Must be fluent in English and have excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills in person, on the telephone and via email
- Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers, clients and the general public
- Ability to stay calm at all times and act respectfully and professionally, even with customers who may voice frustrations
- Strong customer service skills
- Professional, punctual, reliable and neat
- Trustworthy and ability to handle confidential studio information
- Proficient with computers and Studio software
- This position offers a competitive Hourly Rate plus an additional class rate based on experience and performance .
