Medical Assistant Pain Clinic

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our pain management clinic. The Medical Assistant will support physicians and clinical staff in delivering quality care to patients managing chronic and acute pain. This role combines direct patient interaction with administrative and clinical responsibilities in a fast-paced outpatient environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for exams and procedures, ensuring comfort and privacy
• Obtain and record patient history, vital signs, medications, and pain assessments in the EMR
• Assist providers with exams, injections, and minor procedures
• Manage patient flow to ensure timely visits and minimize wait times
• Perform basic clinical tasks such as rooming patients, preparing procedure rooms, sterilizing instruments, and maintaining supplies
• Handle prior authorizations, medication refills, and referrals as directed
• Educate patients on treatment plans, medication instructions, and post-procedure care
• Support front office tasks as needed, including scheduling, verifying insurance, and collecting payments
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and clinic safety protocols
