  • Operate and maintain mammography equipment, including quality control and troubleshooting minor technical issues.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare team members to ensure accurate imaging and assist in diagnostic processes.
  • Maintain detailed patient records, document procedures, and comply with regulatory requirements and facility policies.
  • Educate patients about the mammography process, addressing any questions or concerns to alleviate anxiety.
  • Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with advancements in mammography technology and best practices.

Strong interpersonal skills are essential to provide compassionate patient care, explain procedures clearly, and reduce patient anxiety. Attention to detail is critical when positioning patients and performing quality control checks to maintain image accuracy and safety standards. The technologist applies problem-solving skills to troubleshoot equipment issues and adapt to varying patient needs. Additionally, organizational skills are used to maintain accurate records and comply with regulatory documentation requirements.
