Business Process Specialist

Payrate: $59.00- $60.00/hr. Summary: The GCIO DT&D team is seeking a Business Process Specialist with strong expertise in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and data management. This role acts as a key liaison between Caterpillar IT, business stakeholders, and cross-functional IT teams. The specialist will evaluate CAT Machines S&OP processes, support application-related activities, and contribute to modernization initiatives, including migrating legacy systems to modern platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Act as a liaison between IT teams, business partners, and customers to support S&OP processes
• Evaluate and optimize Machines S&OP workflows and processes
• Provide day-to-day support for product implementation, user queries, and incident resolution
• Work on modernization projects, including migration of legacy applications to modern solutions
• Coordinate application changes, perform testing, and assist with database implementations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing operations and transformation efforts
• Assist in troubleshooting issues related to databases, reporting, and system integrations

Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge of S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) processes
• Proficiency in SQL and database management (including reporting)
• Experience working with data platforms such as Snowflake or similar
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
• Good understanding of application support and incident management

Education:

• Associate's degree in Computer Programming (or equivalent training) with 10+ years of experience OR
• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience

Desired Skills:

• Experience with mainframe migration or modernization projects
• Familiarity with ServiceNow
• Knowledge of IBM mainframe systems and/or ERP platforms
• Strong initiative and ability to learn quickly
• Positive attitude with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills

Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $59.00- $60.00/hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
