Schedule : Four 10-hour shifts, variable scheduled days
Your role with us
As an ultrasound technologist at Salem Health, you will play a key role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging to support exceptional patient care. You will work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare team members to perform a wide range of ultrasound exams, assist with procedures, and ensure accurate, thorough documentation. Your expertise will help guide clinical decisions and enhance the patient experience through compassionate communication and technical excellence.
What you'll do
- Perform a variety of ultrasound exams, including general (abdomen, pelvic, OB), small parts, carotid, breast, and venous studies.
- Assist radiologists with invasive procedures, ensuring proper use of supplies, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Tailor imaging techniques to meet the needs of pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients while maintaining exam quality.
- Analyze images for completeness, gather additional views as needed, and provide thorough documentation with proper patient identification and annotation.
- Correlate sonographic findings with clinical history and prior imaging to assist in diagnosis.
- Maintain, adjust, and clean ultrasound equipment; promptly report any issues to your supervisor.
- Utilize PACS, RIS, and HIS systems to manage orders, track patient information, and ensure accurate billing.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, families, and healthcare providers, protecting patient privacy at all times.
- Support departmental operations by keeping work areas organized, assisting colleagues, and training others as required.
