The Instructional Technology Specialist (ITS) is responsible for working collaboratively with the administration and staff to support the implementation of innovative instructional practices. Emphasis is placed on creating a support structure that assists classroom teachers in leveraging technology to create a personalized learning environment for all students. The position will serve as the technology program manager, instructional technology leader, and instructional technology partner / coach for teachers across all content areas. The position reports to and is evaluated by the Project Coordinator for Instruction and Program Improvement. School principals will provide feedback regarding the instructional technology specialist's performance which will be included in the interim and summative evaluations.
Qualifications :
- Holds a Master's degree in education, instructional technology, or other related field with a Master's degree preferred.
- Holds a Collegiate Professional or Post Graduate Professional Virginia teaching license.
- Minimum of three years successful teaching experience.
- Considerable knowledge of curriculum development and implementation.
- Considerable knowledge of effective and varied teaching strategies and assessment techniques
- Ability to integrate technology into curricular areas.
- Considerable knowledge of research trends in instructional technology.
- Considerable knowledge of the use of personal computers, iPads, Smartboards, Chrome Books, video production, as well as a wide variety of digital resources, tools, and instructional programs.
- Willing to flex work schedule at the discretion of the supervisor.
- Must have the physical ability to work effectively with students with challenging behaviors.
- Must have above average amount of repetitive hand movements (including simple grasping, pushing / pulling, fine manipulation), walking, bending, standing, stooping, lifting (up to 20 lbs.), kneeling, reaching, and crawling. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential tasks.
