Description
The National Airspace Systems Integration Support (NISC) program at Leidos is looking for talented Senior Electronics Design Engineers to join our team in supporting the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Eastern Service Area - Engineering Services Groups. This team operates out of key locations such as College Park, GA, Washington, DC, Burlington, MA, and Nashua, NH.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of the FAA's Telecommunications Portfolio, focusing on the crucial modernization and conversion efforts for National Airspace Connectivity. This includes engaging with Small Tower Voice Switches , Telecommunications Infrastructure Replacement, Air to Ground Protocol Converters, and NEXCOM Radios. This design-centric role will specifically support the upgrade of Voice Switches for the Air Traffic Control System across the Eastern United States.
Key Responsibilities :
- Evaluate existing site surveys to determine the necessary scope of work for site preparation.
- Conduct site surveys at remote locations to assess preparation needs.
- Draft scopes of work for site preparations based on survey findings and facility data :
- Identify Contract Line-Item Numbers (CLINs) needed for site preparation.
- Develop accurate cost estimates for site preparations.
- Review contractor proposals for site preparations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Generate Operational Risk Management Pre-Requisite Programs related to site preparation and voice-switch installations.
- Collaborate with local stakeholders to implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate and schedule site preparation activities with stakeholders and contractor teams.
- Oversee site preparations and installation work done by contractors.
- Create regular status reports on the progress of site preparations.
- Update Corporate Work Plan (CWP) data as necessary.
- Revise facility drawings based on site modifications.
