Test Technician
Job Summary
Test Technician performs functional testing, troubleshooting, and repair of simple to intermediate electronic components and assemblies with limited supervision. Building on the Test Technician I role, this position handles more complex testing, mentors junior technicians, and contributes to process improvements while meeting productivity, quality, and cost targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Test, troubleshoot, and repair electronic components, subassemblies, assemblies, and instruments per established procedures and specifications.
- Diagnose and verify performance using a wide range of electronic test equipment.
- Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, drawings, ECOs, and repair documentation.
- Perform intermediate-level and advanced soldering of small parts and components.
- Apply full Test Technician I capabilities to more complex testing and troubleshooting tasks.
- Mentor and train Test Technician I employees on proper techniques and best practices.
- Identify and support process improvements to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and control costs.
- Meet established productivity, quality, and cost metrics.
- Follow all environmental, health, and safety policies and promote safe work practices.
- Work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Essential Skills & Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in electronic testing, troubleshooting, and repair of complex assemblies or systems.
- At least 2 years of complex assembly experience; aerospace experience preferred.
- Proficiency with electronic test equipment and advanced soldering techniques.
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication with a strong customer service mindset.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision and adapt to new tools and processes.
- Intermediate proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Electronics or related field.
- Military or trade school electronics training.
- Experience in aerospace or other high-reliability manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with calibration practices and engineering documentation.
- Successful completion of hands-on technical assessments during interview.
Work Environment
This position operates in an aerospace manufacturing and production environment with exposure to machinery, noise, fumes, and electronic testing equipment. Use of appropriate PPE and adherence to safety procedures are required.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Everett, WA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $37.00 - $37.00/hr.
