  • Gaining full technical understanding of the work assigned, including electronics domain analysis, troubleshooting, and component evaluation.,
  • Designing and maintaining test tools and means such as In-Circuit, JTAG, functional test benches, and programming in LabVIEW or C.,
  • Developing and maintaining test bench structures, ensuring effective debugging and troubleshooting.,
  • Applying safety principles with high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) equipment.,
  • Crunching and analyzing data from test results to drive improvements.,
  • Supporting tender quotations for bench test projects.,
  • Guaranteeing the application of testing standards (DFT rules, standard test platform usage, maintenance rules) during product development to optimize productivity and test coverage.,
  • Defining software, hardware, and mechanical architecture for automated test benches in compliance with EHS Alstom and external standards.,
  • Developing new test rules and repair requirements to enhance productivity and test coverage.

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered,
  • Experience (minimum 5-7 years) in Test Equipment design, including developing test software and hardware for electronics systems,
  • Knowledge of high power and high voltage testing, PCB-level testing, and test principles such as testability, test coverage, and test validation,
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Excel and Word), cable modeling software, simulation software, and product lifecycle management tools,
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and providing customer training,
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as LabVIEW or C for test software development,
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug test benches, electronic modules, and components,
  • Knowledge of safety principles for working with high-voltage and low-voltage equipment,
  • Project management skills to manage tasks and meet project schedules,
  • Willingness to travel (less than 10%) to support project deployment and customer site activities.

Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Work with cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions in the railway systems domain,
  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues,
  • Progress towards becoming a leader in the development of advanced test equipment and software for propulsion and train control systems,
  • Contribute to innovative projects,
  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries,
  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning.

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
