We are looking for a remote contractor (or full-time team member) to transform our technical documentation, written in GitBook (https://docs.nalpeiron.com), into a high-performing SEO acquisition channel.

This is not a traditional technical writing role — it requires structuring, optimizing, and expanding technical content to rank in search and AI-driven discovery (ChatGPT, Google SGE).

A person with a deep background in documentation, technical writing, and at least a good understanding of SEO (from a docs perspective).

It will require the use of AI tooling and the latest techniques to speed up the process and get better results.

This is a core role for us - you will be our “Docs Growth Owner”, not just a technical writer.

YOU WILL BE WORKING WITH AN SEO AGENCY, so we are not expecting a seasoned SEO expert; we are more interested in docs/video expertise.

NOTE: Video is a large part of this job, creating compelling training and doc support videos for technical users.

You will own:

• Development of high-quality docs - including video content, how-to articles, and case studies to make using our software products easier and to reduce support load.

• KPI: organic traffic + rankings

• Ownership of docs, SEO, and content >page 1

• Ownership of AI placement, so the docs pages are recommended in all AI engines

• Backlinking strategy between various properties

• Opportunity to own our full docs process if this project is successful, i.e., technical writing and doc production

We will filter candidates by:

1. Thinking quality and use of the AI toolset

2. Structure and quality output (not just AI B.S. blurb)

3. Technical understanding of the messaging and ability to communicate technical concepts

Responsibilities

1. Documentation SEO Optimization

• Rewrite existing docs pages to align with high-intent search queries

• Improve titles, headings, and on-page keyword targeting

• Add contextual introductions and use cases to technical pages

• Work with colleagues to generate content (you are not alone)

• Ensure our content remains high quality, detailed, useful, and of value to developers

2. Pillar Content Creation

• Create 5–10 long-form “pillar” technical guides (2,000–4,000 words)

• Example topics:

  • Entitlement Management Architecture

  • Usage-Based Licensing Implementation

  • Software Licensing System Design

  • Hybrid Monetization Models

3. Internal Linking & Topic Clusters

• Build structured internal linking across docs and marketing pages (working with marketing team)

• Recycle video and training content into the docs from the university and other sources

• Create topic clusters (licensing, entitlements, usage, APIs)

4. Technical Content Enhancement

• Add/create:

  • Architecture diagrams (can be simple)

  • API examples

  • Step-by-step implementation flows

  • Video content

  • Use cases

5. Schema & AI Optimization

• Implement FAQ, HowTo, and TechArticle schema

• Structure content for AI search visibility (clear definitions, summaries)

6. Ongoing Content & Maintenance

• Continuously expand docs with new SEO-driven pages

• Monitor rankings and iterate on content monthly

• Produce a monthly report on progress and rankings vs competition

Requirements

• Proven experience with:

  • SaaS, APIs, or developer documentation

  • Technical SEO (not just blog SEO)

• Strong understanding of:

  • Software architecture concepts (APIs, licensing, usage tracking)

  • Search intent and keyword mapping

• Ability to turn fragmented docs into structured, ranking content

• Fluent written English (native or near-native)

• Strong use of the latest AI tooling (we will buy as required)

Bonus

• Experience with:

  • Monetization, billing, or licensing systems/software development (SDLC), etc

  • Tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, SurferSEO

  • Markdown-based documentation systems

Deliverables (First 60 Days)

• Audit of existing docs and their rank in key AI/search queries

• Understanding of our keyword/ranking strategy

• Optimization of the top 50 pages

• 5-10 pillar pages with associated child pages created

• Internal linking structure implemented

• Measurable increase in indexed pages and impressions

Engagement Model

• Initial project: 4–8 weeks
