President and Chief Executive Officer

We are conducting a retained search for a President and CEO of a $6 billion bank based in Carmel, IN. This is a tremendous opportunity for someone to build upon the banks successes to date and build a strong diversified community bank. This bank is looking for an experienced President and CEO that can anticipate future trends, communicate a compelling and inspired vision, and lead the bank in making that vision a reality.

Essential Functions:

Bank President Summary:

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the President and Chief Executive Officer will direct and oversee all strategic, credit, financial, and operational activities of the organization including analyzing effects of long-term growth initiatives, developing, and implementing the organizations operational and fiscal function and performance. • Interact regularly with the Board of Directors to formulate, implement, monitor, and report the banks strategic results, and policies.
• Oversee and maintain the framework and processes to develop and communicate the banks long-term strategic direction.
• Lead the banks strategy setting and related activities that advance the Banks strategic objectives.
• Represent the Bank both internally and externally, develop and maintain relationships with major clients and regulators, and with the Senior Executive Team comprised of the Banks most senior executives, supporting a positive profile for the Bank.
• Build a sound infrastructure to achieve a strategic balance of risk and return.
• Establish and maintain a framework and processes to assess the impact of mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions for the Bank.
• Oversee the effectiveness of the Banks financial structure and monitor and advise the Chairman on the Banks present and future capital requirements.
• Work closely with the Chief Risk Officer to oversee the proactive identification, management, and mitigation of the various risks of the Bank, both current and emerging, all in a manner consistent with Bank objectives.
• Ensure that the Bank is positioned to evolve as an integrated, customer-focused financial institution in alignment with the Banks stated business strategies.
• Coordinate the Senior Executive Team to meet on a regular basis to discuss matters relating to the overall strategic management of the Bank.
• Establish accountability with regard to satisfactorily meeting approved plans
• Oversee and supports the ongoing development of a diverse, capable, engaged workforce, and an extraordinary workplace that provides the capacity and capability to execute against its business strategy.
• Required to maintain the strictness of confidentiality in all matters.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws, and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the OCC.
• Oversee all required regulatory reporting to ensure bank compliance.

Here is what our client requires:

• Minimum of 15 years of community bank management experience with broad banking exposure
• Minimum of five years in a President/CEO role in a community bank
• Experience developing and/or overseeing a community bank with asset size exceeding $3 5 billion
• Bachelors degree in finance, economics, or business administration
