Summary: The Occupational Therapist (OT) delivers evidence-based, patient-centered therapy aimed at improving, restoring, and maintaining the skills needed for independent daily functioning. Working across a variety of clinical environments, the OT evaluates patient abilities, identifies functional impairments, and develops individualized treatment plans aligned with patient goals. Through hands-on therapeutic interventions, adaptive strategies, and assistive devices, the OT supports patient independence while educating families and caregivers to enhance long-term functional outcomes and quality of life. Key Responsibilities: Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessments, patient goals, and best-practice guidelines Provide occupational therapy interventions consistent with the established plan of care Deliver hands-on therapy using adaptive techniques, modalities, and assistive equipment to improve performance in daily and work-related activities Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy goals and strategies to promote independence in activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental ADLs (IADLs) Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development to stay current with occupational therapy practices Follow all infection control standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe therapeutic environment Contribute to discharge planning to support continuity of care and successful transition to home or community settings Perform additional duties within scope of practice as assigned Required Skills and Qualifications: Strong critical thinking skills, commitment to service excellence, and effective communication abilities Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English Ability to understand written instructions, follow verbal directions, and use computer systems effectively Physical ability to remain stationary for periods of time, move throughout the clinical setting, and lift or handle equipment weighing 50–100 lbs, including pushing, pulling, and bending Ability to work collaboratively with diverse healthcare professionals while maintaining professionalism Fine motor skills and coordination required for therapeutic interventions and equipment use Ability to manage frequent patient interaction while meeting deadlines in a structured environment Capability to work independently or with occasional supervision Flexibility to handle changing schedules and maintain attention to detail Adequate visual acuity and communication skills necessary for safe and effective practice
