Responsibilities:

  • Create compelling, story-driven video content that supports the mission and vision of Central Christian Church.
  • Own video projects from concept through final delivery, including pre-production, production, and post-production.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Team Manager, Creative Director, ministry partners, and other creatives to develop concepts, treatments, and visual approaches for projects.
  • Help develop creative concepts for sermon series, seasonal campaigns, the weekend experience, ministry stories, social media, YouTube, and other church initiatives.
  • Plan and execute video productions including scripting, storyboarding, shot planning, locations, scheduling, talent, equipment, and other production needs.
  • Direct and capture video using professional camera, lighting, audio, and production equipment.
  • Help direct staff, volunteers, ministry participants, and other talent during productions to capture authentic and compelling performances and stories.
  • Edit video projects from initial assembly through final delivery with strong attention to storytelling, pacing, music, sound design, and emotional impact.
  • Creatively color grade and finish video content while maintaining consistent visual quality and brand standards.
  • Capture photography for campaigns, ministry stories, events, weekend experiences, and other Creative Team needs when appropriate.
  • Create or adapt basic supporting graphics and visual assets when needed.
  • Prepare and optimize content for different platforms and formats, including weekend environments, YouTube, social media, websites, and digital campaigns.
  • Collaborate with designers, filmmakers, marketing team members, production staff, contractors, and other creatives throughout the creative process.
  • Bring creative ideas and visual storytelling recommendations to planning, brainstorming, and strategy conversations.
  • Continuously research filmmaking, storytelling, social content, visual trends, technology, and emerging creative tools to help raise the quality of Central's visual content.
  • Maintain organized project files, footage, photography, and completed assets within Central's digital asset management systems.
  • Help maintain and organize video, photography, lighting, and production equipment.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high standard of creative excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong portfolio or demo reel demonstrating excellence in filmmaking and visual storytelling.
  • Strong understanding of cinematography, composition, lighting, camera operation, and audio capture.
  • Strong video editing skills with an understanding of narrative structure, pacing, music, and emotional storytelling.
  • Proficiency with professional editing and post-production tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and other visual design tools.
  • Familiarity of Adobe After Effects or similar motion graphics tools a bonus.
  • Experience taking projects from concept through production and final delivery.
  • Ability to communicate creative ideas clearly and collaborate effectively with both creative and non-creative team members.
  • Ability to direct people comfortably and help individuals communicate authentically on camera.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, adaptable, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Continually curious about filmmaking, storytelling, culture, technology, and emerging creative trends.

Role Model in Personal Life:

  • Must align with the vision and values of Central Christian Church and be committed to doing Central no harm.
  • Financially support the vision of Central Christian Church by faithfully giving at least 10% of gross income.
