Xavier University is seeking applications for a 9-month Teaching Professor (non-tenure track) position in the Department of Counseling to begin August, 2026. The department has 9 full-time faculty members and offers a CACREP-accredited MA in School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling characterized by a community engagement, experiential learning and social justice focus. We aim to educate students who are ethical, multiculturally focused, and desiring a transformative learning experience. Successful candidates for this position must have at least two years of experience working as a school counselor in a K-12 educational setting and a doctorate in counseling or counselor education. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Responsibilities :
- Teach, advise, and mentor students in the MA counseling programs, particularly students enrolled in the school counseling program
- Actively contribute to the continuous development and assessment of the overall school counseling program
- Assist with coordination of field experience for school counseling students
- Maintain current relationships with school districts and community partners and work with The Office of the Graduate School to contribute to recruitment efforts on behalf of the school counseling program
- Provide service, outreach, engagement, and leadership in the Department and College
