Department Summary
The University of North Texas Health at Fort Worth is excited to launch and grow its College of Nursing. The college of nursing is addressing the shortage of nurses in Texas, which has the second-fewest nurses per capita in the U.S. The College of Nursing has joined five other colleges and schools offering degree programs at HSC : the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, School of Biomedical Sciences, School of Public Health, School of Health Professions and College of Pharmacy.
Position Overview
UNT Health College of Nursing is seeking an application for an PT Assistant Professor position to serve as a faculty lead for the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner program. This candidate will teach courses, develop curriculum, conduct research / scholarship, advise students, and engage in service to the department, university, and profession. The position is is non-tenure track appointment.
Minimum Qualifications
- A Masters’ Degree in Nursing.
- A valid, unencumbered nursing license in the state of Texas or eligibility for licensure.
- Practice experience in psychiatric nursing.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in evidence-based simulation instruction and technologies.
Required License / Registration / Certifications
Licensure or eligibility for licensures as an RN and APRN in Texas, National Board Certification as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.
