Job description

Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Engineer from 2 to 5 years of relevant experience to support project management and project financial operations by ensuring accurate billing, invoicing, scheduling, and reporting. The role involves coordinating with clients and internal teams, managing project schedules, and performing Earned Value (EV) analysis. Key tasks include monitoring budgets, monitoring and updating schedules, addressing scope changes, and supporting bids and proposals. This position requires strong technical and analytical skills to enhance project delivery and ensure alignment with client expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently deliver client expectations and ensure adherence to established deadlines.
  • Coordinate with billing and finance teams to review/document accounts receivable, time sheets for the period and other expenses
  • Organize billing drafts, compile monthly invoices, and ensure manual data entry for invoices is mapped correctly to the final invoice sheet.
  • Handle multiple invoice-related coordination tasks between internal teams and clients and ensure invoice accuracy by performing thorough checks and cross-verifications.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Accounts, and Billing teams to address and resolve invoice-related queries promptly.
  • Employ financial systems to support the seniors in the analysis, supervision, and documentation of project financial outcomes and additional performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with the design team to gather and organize engineering progress data to boost Earned Value (EV) analysis.
  • Participate in the generation of monthly accruals for clients.
  • Record and monitor project scope modifications and contribute to the generation of change order petitions.
  • Adopt a proactive stance in managing tasks, focusing on the enhancement of technical competencies and expertise.
  • Act as a liaison between GCC India and Canada for project setup, timesheet coding, billing, etc.
  • Support the PM team in monitoring and controlling the portfolio of projects across Canada.
  • Create and maintain accurate reporting and tracking on a project to verify planned value, actual cost, earned value, and schedule.
  • Create and update schedule in MS Project or P6 based on the Input from the PM/PD. Create activity list reading proposals.
  • Support PD/PM in bids and proposals on budget preparation, schedule preparation or any other task assigned.
  • Perform data integrity checks and auditing to ensure accuracy of reporting.
  • Assess and report on impacts of changes to baseline estimates and new forecasted dates/performance.
  • Timely identification, notification, resolution, and recording of deviations from the current plan.
  • Maintain WBS and budgets in the system, including time transfers.
  • Attend meetings, prepare and distribute agenda items, take meeting minutes, and track follow-up actions.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of project lessons-learned databases.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Competencies

  • Proficiency in the MS Office suite, including Advanced Excel, and ERP systems. Knowledge of Power BI is a strong asset.
  • Should have working experience of Primavera P6 and MSP/Smart sheets.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Oracle ERP systems.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and overall communication skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational abilities to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
  • Must be self-motivated, forward-thinking, and open to tackling new challenges.
  • A meticulous approach to quality assurance and maintaining accuracy in numerical data.
  • Ability to multi-task, work on several projects or tasks at once, manage time, organize, and set priorities
  • Should be a team person.

Mandatory Skills :

Advanced Excel, Experience of working in Sharepoint, MS Project, creating presentations, Proficient in P6

Desired Skills :

Power BI, MS Visio, Oracle ERP

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree with project management experience or master's degree in construction management or project management is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 to Maximum 5 years of experience in project management / Project Controls with Engineering / professional services consultants
  • CAPM-PMI / PMP certifications would be an added advantage.
