Position Overview :
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Transportation Engineer with 5 to 10 years of experience to join our team. This role involves designing and managing roadway projects, ensuring compliance with state and local standards, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver successful infrastructure solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in roadway design, project management, and experience working on transportation projects, including familiarity with DOT requirements.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Roadway Design : Develop roadway designs and layouts using industry-standard software (e.g., InRoads, ORD, MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D) in accordance with state and local guidelines.
- Project Management : Lead roadway projects from conception through completion, ensuring that schedules, budgets, and client expectations are met.
- Plan Preparation : Prepare construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates for roadway and transportation projects.
- Coordination & Collaboration : Work closely with other disciplines, including traffic, structural, and drainage teams, to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Client Interaction : Maintain strong client relationships by understanding their needs and providing practical, effective engineering solutions.
- Compliance : Ensure that all projects adhere to federal, state, and local regulations, including the specific requirements of state Departments of Transportation (DOT), preferably GDOT.
- Quality Control : Conduct design reviews and ensure accuracy and consistency of project deliverables.
- Permitting & Approvals : Assist in the preparation and submission of permit applications and other regulatory approvals.
- Technical Reports : Prepare technical reports, memos, and other documentation as required for projects.
- Mentorship : Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians to help develop their skills and knowledge.
